In May, we voted to add a line item to our church budget designating $1,000 toward reparations with the understanding that we would all learn more about reparations and, as a church body, decide how to distribute these funds. The Racial Justice Team will offer four second hour sessions to foster this discussion. Each session will explore different aspects of this complex topic. The first session will cover these areas: 

• the context for how the Racial Justice Team and Judson got to this point; 
• why we should care now about what has happened in the past;
•  what reparations are not and what components constitute reparations; 
• the basis for truth-telling.   

Follow-up sessions are planned for December 1, January 5, February 2.
